Explore the Biblical World from Anywhere: Spring 2027 Online Courses at JUC

Registration for Jerusalem University College's Spring 2027 online courses is now open, offering students around the world the opportunity to engage in graduate-level biblical studies through live instruction from JUC faculty.

Running February 1 through May 7, 2027, the spring semester features eight courses exploring biblical archaeology, Hebrew language, history, and the cultures and religious traditions of the biblical world. Whether pursuing academic credit, working toward a graduate degree or certificate, or studying for personal enrichment, students can deepen their understanding of Scripture from wherever they live.

Explore a Diverse Range of Courses

This spring's offerings invite students to examine the biblical world from a variety of perspectives.

Students interested in archaeology can explore discoveries from the Persian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods in Biblical Archaeology II with Dr. Charissa Wilson, connecting material remains with historical records and the New Testament.

For those seeking to strengthen their understanding of biblical languages, Biblical Hebrew II with Dr. Ellie Paley continues the study of classical Hebrew, while Hebrew Readings in the Later Prophets with Dr. Eldon Clem offers opportunities for more advanced reading and interpretation.

Several courses explore the historical and cultural settings of Scripture. In Food and Place in the Bible, Chandler Collins examines how agriculture, food production, and the landscapes of ancient Israel shaped daily life and biblical perspectives. The Parables of Jesus and the Rabbinic Meshalim considers the parables of the Gospels alongside those found in classical rabbinic literature.

Students can also study The Book of Revelation and the Seven Cities of the Apocalypse with Dr. Chris Vlachos, examining Revelation within its first-century historical context, or explore the development of Jewish religious beliefs and practices in Jewish Thought and Practice with Rabbi Moshe Silberschein.

The spring semester also includes Cultural Backgrounds of the Bible, providing another opportunity to explore the cultural contexts of Scripture.

Extend Your Learning Beyond the Classroom

Select spring courses offer optional field study opportunities that connect online learning with firsthand experiences in the biblical world.

Students enrolled in Food and Place in the Bible may have the opportunity to participate in a field study in Jordan, while The Book of Revelation and the Seven Cities of the Apocalypse offers an optional field study to Patmos and Türkiye.

These experiences reflect JUC's commitment to connecting the study of Scripture with the geography, history, and cultures of the places where biblical events unfolded.

Learn with a Global Community

JUC's online courses bring together students, pastors, ministry leaders, and lifelong learners from around the world. Through live instruction and interaction with faculty and classmates, participants can engage in meaningful academic study while remaining connected to their own communities.

Courses may be taken for academic credit or audit, with eligible coursework applying toward select JUC graduate degrees and certificates.
