More than ten travelers from the United States arrived in Israel in October 2026 for Jerusalem University College's fall Pastor-Parishioner travel course. The two-week program offered participants opportunities to examine Scripture through the geography and history of the biblical landscape.

After spending their first days becoming familiar with Jerusalem, the group began traveling through the land. Their first travel day included the Mount of Olives, Herodium, and Bethlehem, where participants considered how the landscape shaped events recorded in Scripture.

One traveler reflected on the significance of the roads leading into Jerusalem and the route associated with Jesus' entry into the city: “The geography of the city was a character in the story.”

The day concluded in Bethlehem with a visit to the Church of the Nativity. The traveler reflected on the city's significance in the accounts of Ruth and Boaz, King David, and the birth of Jesus.

Through the Pastor-Parishioner program, JUC provides opportunities for participants to encounter the historical and geographical settings of Scripture firsthand, connecting biblical study with the places in which its narratives unfolded.
