The Fall 2026 semester at Jerusalem University College is off to a full and exciting start as students settle into life and learning in the heart of Jerusalem.

This year, students arrived in Jerusalem just as Jewish pilgrims began gathering for the High Holidays, including Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot. With JUC's campus situated on Mount Zion, students have a unique opportunity to experience the rhythms of life in Jerusalem and observe the religious and cultural traditions that shape the city.

These experiences are an important part of a JUC education. Learning extends beyond the classroom as students encounter the geography, history, cultures, and communities of the biblical world firsthand.

Welcoming New Faces to Campus

This semester, JUC is also pleased to welcome several additions to its campus community.

Dr. Chris and Patty Vlachos, along with Isaac and Dr. Ellie Paley, are living on campus this semester. JUC has also welcomed Joe Arrigoni as Facility Manager and Kelsey Vine, a recent graduate of JUC's M.A. in Biblical History and Geography program, as Campus Cleaning Coordinator.

Each brings valuable experience and contributes to the community of learning and hospitality that makes JUC a special place to study.

Continuing to Learn in the Land

Despite ongoing regional tensions, the fall semester has continued as planned. National parks remain open, there are no restrictions from Israel's Home Front Command, and JUC's field studies have proceeded as scheduled.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue providing students with immersive educational experiences throughout the land of the Bible.

As the semester unfolds, we look forward to sharing more stories from our students and faculty as they explore the historical, geographical, and cultural settings of Scripture.
