"The Hamas-Israel Crisis" Online Lecture

 

Join the JUC community for a special online lecture as we examine the current Gaza-Israel crisis with our Professor in Middle Eastern Studies, Dr. Jonathan Kaplan. The lecture will explore the historical background including the role of Hamas to help better understand the situation and where it might be headed. A response from Dr. Bernard Sabella, Professor of Palestinian Society and Politics, will follow.

This special online lecture will be offered twice. Registrants are welcome to attend one of the following dates:

Speakers

Dr. Jonathan Kaplan

Dr. Jonathan Kaplan has been on the faculty of Jerusalem University College since 1986 where he continues to lecture on Jewish history and modern Israeli society. He served as the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Vice Provost of Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School.

Dr. Bernard Sabella

Dr. Bernard Sabella has been a faculty member of Jerusalem University College for over 25 years, specializing in Palestinian history and society. He is an elected member of the Palestinian Legislative Council representing Jerusalem and was associate professor of sociology at Bethlehem University for more than 25 years.
