Frequently Asked Questions

Want to receive credit for previously audited courses? Review the eligibility requirements and process.

Important Information

If I have taken mostly audit courses, how many will JUC allow to change over to credit?

Students who have audited JUC courses can apply to change up to two courses (6 credits) to credit. To qualify, the audited course must have been taken in the previous three years. Students interested in doing so should fill out the Audit to Credit Request Form after being accepted into the Certificate program, pay the difference between the audit and current credit price, and complete all required readings and assignments by the agreed-upon deadline (typically 90 days out). Students will be required to participate in any associated field studies if they have not already done so.

How much will it cost per course credit to change from audit to credit?

It will depend on when the course was taken. The cost will be the difference between the audit price paid and the current credit price.

If I audited a course more than three years ago, is it possible to change it to credit?

There is a three-year limit between the time of auditing the class and its being turned around to credit status.

If I only completed the Israel portion of the Historical & Geographical Settings of the Bible course, how would I complete the remaining Jordan extension component?

Provided there is space available, students can join any of the Jordan extensions associated with a JUC Travel Course or the Jordan Field study connected to a Semester Physical Settings of the Bible Course. Students can also petition the JUC Academic Committee to be exempt from this requirement. If approved, additional coursework may be required to ensure that learning goals are met.
