Lost among the weeds and the past at Gadara The Roman Theatre at Jerash. Great for sound, great for entertainment. JUC board member Dr. Michael Harbin of Taylor University at Jerash, a nice place to embrace the wonder that was Rome Stepping through time at Jerash Looking over to the remains of Bozrah, capital of the Edomites. Just another walk in the field. Kerak Castle, Jordan. What a beautiful place. A little map work at Dibon, home of Mesha king of Moab (2 Kgs 3:4). "Now Mesha king of Moab was a sheep breeder . . ." (2 Kgs 3:4). And what do we find on his ancestral home of Dibon? MA students Ada and Emily, readying for a reception in honor of the JUC board of directors. Dr. Herb Jacobsen, chair of the JUC board of directors, with Yacov Avrahami, head of the Mayor's Office for Religious Communities, Jerusalem Yitzhaq Mina, JUC's legal counsel in Israel, with JUC's Israel Financial Manager Bishara Sahhar Dr. Ed Hardesty, JUC's newest board member, speaks with Dr. Norman Gunn, who has been connected with JUC since the days of Doug Young. I'd call this "official stuff that the board does." Board members Herb Jacobsen, Dianne Benton, Scott Bolinder and Duane Wood in the JUC gardens.
We are pleased that Dr. Norman Gunn, who represented Doug Young's work among his Canadian constituency, was able to attend the board meeting in Jerusalem Teresa Marks, with Herb Jacobsen, planting a lemon tree in memory of Teresa's son Peter, in the JUC garden Members of Lakewood United Methodist Church (Houston), with a plum tree planted in memory of Rev. Rusty Watkins in the JUC garden. Cyndi Parker, with final preparations to honor this year's MA graduates. Some of the 2010 JUC MA graduates (or soon-to-be). A thing of beauty. Dr. Boyd and Karen Seevers, with student daughter Rachel. Boyd was visiting professor this spring. Personal items of Bishop Samuel Gobat, now in permanent custody of Jerusalem University College Wheaton in the Holy Lands, above the Wadi Qilt Wheaton in the Holy Lands meeting with the son of the Samaritan High Priest on Mt. Gerazim, in the new Samaritan Museum Reflections on Shiloh at the end of the Day. Psalm 78 works real well here. A little time at the Mediterranean (Ashkelon) is good for everyone. (This was two weeks after the "Gaza flotilla" made news). All's well with Wheaton College at Caesarea! Another day on the job. What can I say? (This one is, of course, at En Gev) Arbel. Always a highlight on a visit to Galilee. Descending Arbel with grace and style. Its the only way down.
